Help please!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm looking for some help please.

I have a 2016 Transit custom. Overthe last few months its developed this whining noise when driving. It only happens when accelerating, as soon as I lift my foot off the accelerator it stops. Sometimes when I start the van I can hear the fan kick in which is a bit weird. There is no loss of power, no warnings on the dash. The van runs perfect only for the whining.

I'm also looking for help with locking my van. Everytime I lock it the horn goes off. It's really annoying (especialy at midnight as it rattles the nebourhood). All doors are correctly closed.

Any help on these two things would be grately appreciated please.

Many thanks in advance.

The whining could really be anything.

Anything that moves.

My car has a dreadful whining from the passenger seat!

If the alarm is going off the van must be thinking a door or the bonnet is still open, which would suggest a latch switch fault

Thanks for the response Dave. I'll check the latches on the doors and look into the thinning a bit more. It sounds like the turbo spinning up. Had someone look at that and its fine.

If the turbo spinning has got louder check for loose or split hoses or even pin holes
