Heater blower and Rear Wiper cut out at same time - why ?

Featured Replies

My 2012 Ford Focus Estate Mk3 Titanium X Manual petrol heater blower and rear windscreen wiper both cut out when I started the car after it being not started for several weeks while I was in hospital.

I DID manage to start it and get both the blower and wiper to come on again, but now they won't come on anymore. I feel this is must be a common dry joint problem, rather than a fuse blowing or both motors burning out at the same time, but I am at a loss as to how to fault find this as I don't have a wiring diagram.

I am thinking that I should perhaps work back from the rear windscreen wiper to see where it gets its power from and then do the same for the blower and see if there is a common supply or a common earth.

Does anyone have any ideas or a wiring diagram that would help with this ?

An understanding of which Body Control Module (BCM) connectors feed these two motors would be a help.

Peter

Hi,

It is more likely that the battery charge had dropped very low. That causes a lot of odd faults.

Recommend overnight recharge of the battery if possible.
