Tyre Pressure Sensor Not Detected Warning

Featured Replies

My Mk3 Focus is giving me a tyre pressure sensors not detected warning message every 20 minutes.

Storing the current tyre pressures on the cluster controls clears the warning lamp, but it inevitably comes back.

This all started happening after my car was taken to have some scrapes caused by a neighbour touched up at a repair centre. They couldnt diagnose it either when I took it back to them saying they had caused an issue with the sensors.

I have taken it to my local tyre depot and they confirmed that none of the in wheel sensors are out of battery, the issue they said seems to be with the onboard system not picking up just the front two sensors when re learning them and that I'd have to take it to Ford.

I've done a DTC read and cleared the codes with a 3rd party OBD diagnostics box, but still the issue persists.

Any advice on next steps beyond taking the car to a dealer?

Does it have receivers in the wheel arches ? Check they're in place and connected if so. Have you tried a Battery reset ? Sometimes the basics work.

Disconnect battery with ignition off for about 30 seconds. Reconnect, reset TPMS and go for a drive.
