DTC codes c100_00 & 1607_82 MK3 Diesel

Featured Replies

After some advice

MK3 focus 64 plate, Manual Diesel done about 160K miles. Had no major issues. Got clutch and flywheel changed end of last year.

Today the battery symbol came on in the dash and I checked for codes using the Test function.

Got 3 codes C100_00, 1607_82 & C53B_82

Car was serviced January by ford and they also did a software update to the TCM I think. It was a recall notification.

The 1607_82 error seems to be about TCM failure, could the update be related?
Can I reset the codes and see if they come back, or should I take it to the garage for diagnotics?

Thanks

update on this one. Took it to Ford today. They said the alternator isn't charging the battery. Want £1080 to fix it.

Going to try a local garage to see how much they want.

Ive put a voltmeter thingy in the 12v cigarette lighter and it shows around the 13.7V mark when driving. I've checked the battery direct and its around 12.2V

Does the alternator have a separate connection to charge the battery? How can it provide 13.7V but not charge the battery?

13.7v isn't enough to charge the battery effectively. It's in the default failsafe mode. Usually this happens when the small SmartCharge wire breaks. Hopefully Ford have checked the wiring before quoting so much for a new alternator though.
