No crank on 2007 Ford Focus ST

Featured Replies

Hi my 2007 Ford focus st mk2 just went into limp mode tried everything from key coding to buying a new computer box and having it cloned but the vehicle still does not want to start please help me.

Solved by DaveT70

Why would you code new keys just because you went into limp mode? And what computer box??

And is it actually in limp mode or just not starting?

Limp mode normally means it still starts but reduced performance.

Get set up on FORScan with a decent lead and read the codes, that's the best place to start

Vehicle not starting at all not pickimg up the computer box in fact not commanding the computer box that it recognizes the key. The security light keeps on flashing.

What computer box???

That's probably because the first thing you did was reprogram the key? Why? They don't forget the key

And then did it wrong, so now it doesn't recognise the key.

Plus, whatever "computer box" you've fitted won't be configured to the car

Much, much much more detail needed

But read the codes

So Dave if i buy the whole lockset meaning key, cluster, fusebox and computer box from another ST will it be wise to do so.

Not really, you're just throwing money at it for fun?

And what computer box?

Put all the original equiptment back on and read the codes using FORScan, then go from there

You don't know what was wrong with it in the first place

If you substitute all those components there's a very strong chance it still won't work because none of those are at fault.

Find the fault
