Mk2 Remove plastic trim piece in driver's footwell?

Featured Replies

Someone else I know with a Mk2 has the dreaded heater matrix o-ring leak.

They have removed most of the plastic trim but can't see how this piece comes off.

It would make access easier if it could be removed.

Does it unclip somehow or is it glued on?

See red arrow added to RS interior photo I found online for the piece I am asking about.

Thanks for any info.

I may be wrong, but when I was working on my father-in-law's Mk2 it looked to me like it's part of the IP.

Which means whole IP out if it's in the way

Thanks for the reply.

The lower plastic footwell trim is off, the matrix pipe connectors are visible.

This piece of plastic in the image appears to be a separate piece, but glued on when the centre console was built. The job looks to be possible with it in place, but access would be easier without it.
