Anti Collision Warning

Featured Replies

Hello All, I have a Ford Focus Estate 2018. It’s Diesel. When I press the brake pedal after a mile or so. Or I press on the pedal with some force I receive the following errors on the Ford app. I have replaced the braking switch under the dash and still the orange spanner appears on the dash with these errors.

The collision warning system has detected either a system fault or an obstructed radar sensor.

What Should I Do?

If either COLLISION WARN MALFUNCTION, COLLISION WARN NOT AVAILABLE or COLLISION WARN DISPLAY FAULT is displayed in the message centre, clean the grille surface in front of the radar sensor or remove the object causing the obstruction. If the message is displayed after the obstruction is removed, wait a short time. If the problem persists, please have the system checked by an authorised dealer.

The powertrain control system has detected that the brake pedal switch is stuck in the 'ONULL position. This can result in continuous brake light illumination.

What Should I Do?

If the vehicle has a trailer connected, it may cause faulty trailer wiring. If the vehicle has no trailer connected, have the system checked by an authorised dealer.

If anyone can help. I’d be really appreciate the support.

Early MK4s had loads of software glitches and poor battery performance.

First thing I would do is ensure the battery voltage is good.

If not change the battery.

If that doesn't cure it book it into Ford and have as much software updated as possible, but they'll be loads as early MK4s were awful

Does the vehicle have a trailer connected?
