Ford Transit X reg 2.4 Diesel

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I have a X Reg 2000 Transit with a 2.4 diesel engine. The fuel pump appears to have packed up. The mechanic has said the pump is an unusual pump for this engine.

Engine number: YE29275. The pump number is: 020 850 102 969 02110082009B with a Bosch module 0281 001 740 The engine is a Duratorq DI (120 PS).

Ideally I would like to replace this pump like for like, which is proving to be impossible. So could the engine run on a standard pump? I think the engine bracket, pipes and loom plug would need replacing. Is there separate engine management system to the module on the pump? Does anyone have any ideas to sort this issue out ?

This engine runs a much loved Autosleeper Motor home and it would pain me to scrap it!

Thanks for any help/advice you can give.

Hi Guys,

Just an update to my problem. It turns out the numbers being quoted for a replacement pump were not the correct ones. The pump was a Bosch. So to find the correct numbers if this happens to you!

Place the pump upright with pipe connections at the rear, turn the pump onto it's side, anticlockwise. You will now see a flat square polished plate, on this are the numbers required, but.... they are very difficult to see!

My pump had been on the vehicle for 26 years. So I squirted some oil on to it and very gently cleaned with wire wool. This revealed the numbers required and I was able to get a new pump delivered the next day, Glad to say the van is now running!

This whole saga has meant the van has been off the road for 5 weeks!

Yep the 2.4 curators di is becoming a very rare uncommon engine and certain parts aren't easy to get now so it's very good to see you was able to keep yours going 🙌
