Hi all,

A couple of days ago my dash was displaying handbrake malfunction managed to get it home and my battery died. I charged my battery and put it on the car. Wouldnt start tried turning it over and within a couple of tries the battery was dying. Ive bought a new battery for the car which i will put on in the morning will i need to reset the bms ti get it to start again ? My car is a 2019 1.5 ecoboost

Thanks ever so much

If you search the focus club for reset bms there’s definitely threads , I’ve forgotten how to share a thread. No longer have a Ford but had a 1.5 ecoboost 2020.

It will start without resetting the BMS but you should reset it at some point to let the car know that the Battery is now new and not 6 years old.

Unless you have both an Ecoblue (diesel) and an Ecoboost (petrol) you might need to amend your profile. Bit confusing at present.
