URGENT - Rear Passenger side door Lock mechanism

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

Not having much luck with my 2019 Focus ST Line Ecoboost, Ive had it for a couple of months now and Im looking at an engine light being on, its grinding when going into 2nd gear and the most pressing issue is the rear passenger side door lock seems to be non-responsive, is there any way to manually lock the door as Google searches are not giving me any answers.

Cheers!

Yes there is, it tells you how in your Owners Manual.

Ah the rubber cover plug was throwing me off, didn't think to take that off to reveal the bit I needed, thanks for forcing me to check again!

I have the feeling the faulty lock is the least of your problems.

The active engine light and transmission replacement or rebuild you are probably facing are potentially much more involving and may need urgent attention to prevent even higher costs.

If you still have the possibility to reject the car I would recommend to do so.

Took it to a different garage I've not been to before but its had a lot of very good reviews, they said there's nothing wrong with getting into second gear (I suspect they didn't take it for a road test?!) The engine light which per the ford app is pointing towards the lambda sensor, they said is only on due to the fuel that's in circulation now as theyve seen it alot recently and the lambda sensor is functioning fine... they also quoted me £450 for the door lock mechanism replacement.

Unfortunately its far too late to reject the car at this point.
