Ford Fiesta Trend Radio Lacks Fader Function

Featured Replies

Hi all

I have a 2010 Ford Fiesta Trend. When I bought the car it had speakers in front only and lately I installed another 2 at the rear. The problem is that the factory radio does not have the FADE function! When I press the sound button it shows me: "treble, bass and balance".

Can anyone help me on this matter! I need to balance my sound from back and front because the sound is terrible without the fade function!!!

I have a fader in my titanium as well. Dont know why it is disabled on cars that have only 2 front speakers. But im sure people who installed additional rear speakers will know answer to your question.

Why would you need fade if there are no rear speakers?

I installed another 2 speakers at the back and I need the fader! I am waiting for a reply from Ford Malta & Ford USA to confirm if the fade function is standard on Ford Fiesta Trend.

Does anyone have a fade function on a Ford Fiesta Trend????

Of course you need it,but what I'm saying is that why would Ford need to put a fader on the system when the car they are selling doesn't have rear speakers.

true. What I ment was that I hope you can somehow enable it when you need it. Its a software issue isnt it?

Yes I believe it is a software issue because the radio works normally, the only thing is that there is no fader setting. I will wait for an answer from Ford but I wish someone can confirm if he or she has a fader function in their Ford Fiesta TREND

I doubt any Fiesta that comes with only 2 speakers up front will have the Fader, there's no point, you can't fade to speakers that aren't there and they won't install things just in case people will retrofit in the future as it would be never ending. Whether you can get a firmware update for the radio to enable the Fader is another matter as it might even be a different unit.

Trend(s) with only the front speakes don´t have the fader function.

But it can be enabled through an update by your ford dealer.

(I know several people who have done it!)

Ive installed two rear speakers on my fiesta edge but am getting no sound. The wires were there in the back? Confused and frustrated

well to put a spanner in the works my mums edge has no rear speaker but has the fade function :)

I have scoured the net and found out that my stereo is not configured. something ford does so they can charge me a flipping small fortune for them to put a lead into my car and to load a new programme...... 79.99 plus vt!!! what a crock!!!

Buy a new stereo... Stock stereos are often a bag of !Removed! normally compared to a decent aftermarket HU - which will provide you with a lot more adjustments.

Either that or buy an 'enabled' unit off eBay or from a scrappies and retrofit, that is if Ford want more than £50 for reprogramming the stereo

Mine does... I have a 58 plate Zetec S with no rear speakers, but with the fade function on the radio. I'm tempted to put the speakers in, but having seen the threads on how to do it, the effort involved seems a bit excessive.

I'm very interested in this. I asked my local dealer. They wanted to put a tester on it, but wouldn't guarantee that they could enable it - Of course they want to charge me even if they can't. Morons.
