have just brought my son a focus 1.6 zetec , and on the drive home the speedo stopped working then the mileometer had dashes across it, it stayed like that for a few miles then came back on. its done it a few times now any ideas please?

    did you buy from dealer, or private...if it was dealer take it back and get them to fix it for free, legal requirement.

    you could try and follow the sticky on the top of the focus forum, regarding the dash trick. see if everything works as it should and if there are any dtc codes.

    Happened to mine its the speedo sensor about 35pound for the part dont do it yourself though it can snap in the gearbox.also the radio volume can be affected it lowered on mine when the speedo went faulty.
