New Focus 1.6 Zetec S

Featured Replies

Hi, just took deliver of my 2010 1.6 focus zetec S (registered sept 2010)

Got a few issues/niggles..most prob user errors.

Car has got power start button, but i thought with this all i had to do, was walk up to car with the remote in pocket pull dorr handle and get in, tried this a few times, and nothing happens, i have to press the unlock button on the remote first!, then i can press down clutch and press the power start button. do i need to program the automatic opening of the door without pressing the button the remote?

is there a way to change the temp display from Fahrenheit to Celsius?

i tried setting the car date and time, for the year it only goes back as far as 2090!- again any ideas?

finally the car has the ford cd navigation system, any ideas on how to enable the bluetooth, if i enter the phone menu it says not bonded phones!

Thanks

Unless you have specified keyless entry as an option, you will only have keyless start which still requires the car to be unlocked manually with the key.

Zetec S don't have keyless entry standard. Most new model titaniums have it standard and there is a little black square on the outside door handle and boot to show this.

hi Guys, thanks for the update...tad disappointed as i thought it was keyless entry as well as start..but hey ho...

ive sorted the temp, again manual was no help, and got the blue-tooth working...again bit hit and miss...

so far car seems ok, covered a grand 40 miles since having it...some 2800 miles done though i must say car feels very stiff, in that the accelorator pedal is stiff and car is generally sluggish, im just putting this down to it still wearing in.....

thanks again.

most cars are designed to be sluggish till everythings wore in which can take a while after that it will loosen up not sure of the fords but most manufacturers have the ecu programmed to run on safe settiungs till the car hits a certain mileage then reverts to standard ecu settings

Yeah my friend just bought a 1.4 84bhp Punto, the car is running at 54BHP and is speed restricted until the engine has run in, apparently as you get closer to the end of the break in period, the engine starts to un-restrict the factory settings, and release the power as described in the brochure!

6 years ago that never used to happen...

Interesting to say the least, anyone know what this period is on the focus 1.6 115bhp? im currently sitting on 2384 miles!

i recall on some VW diesels it was 2-3K
