Pollen Filter Cockup On Mk2 Focus

Featured Replies

How stupid am I ?

I managed to get the pollen filter out, stood up and examined it.To !Removed! interested in seeing if it looked like it had been changed recently. And hence I made the classic !Removed! up, I forgot which way it was when in situation.

Now when putting my hand in the filter slot, I cannot honestly say which way the air flow is blowing.

So the big question is to anybody who has done one on a Mk2 Focus, does the Air Flow Arrows on the side of the filter, point towards the BONNET or towards the CABIN, when fitted correctly ?

As I don't want to put it all back together, then find I have it in the wrong way.

Cheers

Updated: at 12.00 In the absence of any learned colleagues coming forward / available, and me being a betting man [not horses, dogs, cards or casinos] With odds of 50/50, and other factors taken into account. One of which being, I once had a Free House pub and obviously it had aircon in the beer cellar...well I've taken a punt and put it all back together with the new filter in.

But I'm not telling which way just yet :D

best bet: get a new one in. do it for your peace of mind

I've read your reply to my PM John, hey I'm really pleased you found it funny, I had to chuckle to myself. Anyway it is great when you can all have a laugh together. And thanks go to you to Brian, as you confirmed what John said.

The filter is fitted with the air flow arrows pointing into the cabin.

And that was the conclusion I came to, because in the beer cellar the air was force blown through the aircon unit by a fan behind the unit. Dragging air through the aircon unit by having a fan placed in front of the unit would be a totally inefficient way of doing things. So I applied the same logic to the Focus Aircon unit.

I have some photo's I took , so I'll upload them on this thread tomorrow some time.
