Fiesta St Here In Late 2012 . . .

Featured Replies

So says Autocar. Just as well, cos that's when I am changing my current Titanium - as I do - every 3 years! Whether or not it'll be another Fiesta/Ford remains to be seen. I might juuuuust be tempted:

Well done Ford, late to the party again!

This car should be available now, not in 18 months time.........

Good find, but i think i'll still upgrade to the focus ST that year!

Just in time for when the Fiesta is due for a facelift, so might not be such a bad move..

Ahh Vicky parrot, I worked with her numerous times.

That's legit as Autocar don't publish crappy photoshops like autoexpress do

THAT long?! Was hoping it'd be later this year  The zetec s is in dire need of a turbo!

Still, vicky parrot in a fiesta st would be a nice package...

You thinking of vbh instead?

VP or VBH? You decide:

Neither.Both ugly

Just in time for me to completely ignore it and look at the FOCUS ST :D

Literally took the words out my mouth, once again ford welcome late to the party

Not sure how recent or accurate this article is, but it's pretty interesting, It states the power:weight ratio will nearly match a clio sport 200?

What will be the price of the Focus ST?

hmmm, not interested anymore. Not at that time. Now I know that I just need some decent matching tyres again to get my awesome handling back, I'm happy. Plus petrol will most likely be at £1.65 by then.... wouldn't surprise me if it was..

Ford will finally give us an official hot version of the Fiesta, due to arrive next year. The Fiesta ST will sit above the current fastest Fiesta, the rather lukewarm Zetec S. This contradicts Ford's original line at the launch of the current car that there wouldn't be an official hot version.

It is thought that this change of heart has been brought about due to the introduction Fiesta in the WRC this year in order to comply with the new S2000 rules that have come into force this season. The Fiesta ST will get a 180bhp version of the 1.6-litre Ecoboost engine, which is broadly (and we mean very broadly) similar to the one found in this year's WRC car.

The Fiesta ST is set to compete against rivals such as the Renaultsport Clio 200, the Seat Ibiza Cupra and the Volkswagen Polo GTi. Whilst there is no official word on performance, it is a saf(ish) bet that it will be on a par with the Clio, giving away 20bhp but weighing in at almost exactly 200kg lighter than its French counterpart.

There has been no official word on price, but expect it to go on sale at around £16,500 pounds, undercutting its Renault rival by £300 against the Cup version and £1300 against a highly specced model.

Ford is also dipping its toe into the hot hatch water first with a limited run of 500 'warm' 134 bhp S 1600s. This will be used to test the market for a small hot(ish) Ford.

Too little too late for me unfortunately.

I hope it will have the 7 color ambient lighting! i like the cup holders idea..

Thats just a stock photo of a US Fiesta isn't it? - Doesn't say anything about 5 door does it?

The 134PS S1600 is a new run with more power - the ones that have been around for a while were only 120PS.

Took the words out my mouth! That looks mint

Don't suppose anyone wants a spare center console (the bit around the handbrake with the cupholders in) to have a go at the illuminated cupholders? I have a pretty good condition one taking up space in my kitchen!

For free, i take it, other wise i go with my one :D
