Back In Business!

Yep, I've been very distant to the Ford-Owners-Club recently, as I could only browse via library PCs. But today, all that has changed, the Talk Talk router arrived by Royal Mail Special-Delivery!

So, as of about an hour ago, I'm online again in the new house, after a 6 week wait...

Why the wait ? Because originally we planned on using Orange for the internet, but after waiting a couple of weeks, and having numerous problems (at their end), we told them to stuff it (in a nicer way obviously!), and checked out the competitors.

The first one we saw was Talk Talk in the local paper, advertising a good Home Phone and Broadband deal, so without further ado, we got on the blower to them and set it up!

A few weeks later (today), I picked up the land line to be greeted by a dial tone, much to my suprise, as the official "online" date was meant to be the 1st of April, and this is the 31st of March!

Then, literally 2 minutes later, a Royal Mail van arrived outside the house and delivered a medium sized package. Guessed what it was ? A D-Link router! :)

Connected it up in a jiffy, put the CD into the drive, and after 10 minutes of downloading, the internet beckoned!

The speed is supposedly 8 Meg, and we get 40GB download allowance.

Our last internet provider was Sky, and the internet we had with them included unlimited downloading, so I don't know if the 40GB limit will be OK or not ?

Should it ?

Oh, and it goes without saying that you'll be seeing a lot more of me now :)
