Engine Fan

Featured Replies

Hi All

I'm new to the Fiesta world and hope you guys can shed some light on why the engine cooling fan comes on very soon, by soon I mean within 5 Min's after starting and driving away from cold, I can't see any way on a Mk7 zetec too see what the engine temperature is, but I don't think that the engine is over heating at all.

any ideas or is this standard on a small engined car?

Its the air conditioning system. Its uses the main fan so is quite nosey but nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the reassurance that all is OK.

Glad you were able to understand my reply with its terrible spelling. I'd just come in from the pub !

Mine started doing this the other day even with the air con off took it back to the dealers turned out to be a sticking relay for the fan

Reading other posts, it does seem there is a bit of an issue with fan relays, so if your air-con is off and there is still excessive fan operation, may be worth getting it checked.
