Focus Wiper Blades

Featured Replies

What a shock I got, I drop my car in for an oil leak told me it was my power steering pump pipes cost would be £238 inc oil labour etc, that was ok with me then he said you need new wiper blades your wear indicator shows you require them???

I said wear indicators WHAT wear indicators thes a thing on your blades that tell us your wiper blades require replacement at a cost of £41 i thought what the hell just do it he says with a laugh in his voice we will fit them free, thought cheers mate.

PS did you know your wipers have wear indicators ???? spooky

Yep, original Focus blades have wear indicators.

Really? I have never seen nor heard of such a thing... as far as I am aware, there is no physical wear (whereby the rubber does not erode away) - just becomes inefficient as it catches grime, and grease, and then smears...

My fix - a bucket of hot soapy water, a sponge, and a bit of elbow grease tends to give you another few months of use :)

the wear indicators are a small circle on the blades that turn yellow when they have been exposed to a certain lenght of daylight, these are only a guide though as i have had many months use of the blades after the spots have turned yellow,as long as they are working ok i would not worry.

Plus i think at £41 you got just a little ripped off :(
