hi guys,.,. i'm new to the ford focus scene, and noticed people mentionin the DPF,.,. can anyone tell wot this is, wot it does and if my car has this thing LOL,,,,i've got an 02 1.8TDCi 115 with 74400 on the clock and i'm startin to panic that i could be headin for a huge bill,,,OH HECK HOPE NOT,,,is there somewhere written on the car to tell me if i have this DPF or do i need to phone ford CHEERS GUYS,,,

    Fortunately for you your car does not have this pathetic device. According to the wonderful EU all diesels have to have this device to stop pollution basically. But its a crap invention which needs renewing every so often at great cost. As soon as they stop the volcanoes erupting throughout the world which creates more greenhouse gases than us humans could ever produce then its a waste of time.

    If i had known about the dpf before i bought this diesel i would not have bought the car. This will be my last diesel engine.Anyhow I'm off now to puncture the fridge gas cylinder and burn some tyres.

    As BT said, your engine is the 1.8 which rarely had the DPF's, as they were overall excluded from the offerings of the car. consider yourself fortunate!
