Mk 6 Info Required (Buying And Tech)

Featured Replies

Hi all - new here. :)

My wife currently has a Mk1 Focus 1.6 Zetec and I drive a SEAT Leon Cupra. We're looking to buy something small and very cheap to run, as I've been made redundant recently and my thoughts have turned to the Mk6 Fiesta.

I would like to find out if the two diesel units (1.4 and 1.6 TDCi) are fitted with particulate filters (DPF's). With so much being said about these and the problems they can cause, I think it would be good to be sure whether any potential purchase has one or not before I get too far. I'm not looking for a debate on the pros and cons of DPF's, but just if they were fitted, and if thy were to this model when they were introduced.

Also, any other general buying tips or hints for this model would be very gratefully received.

Many thanks.

DPF was only introduced on the MK7 from March 2010 onwards (1.6 95bhp model)

Thanks for that. No end of 'Googling' came up with no conclusive answer. Sure I saw one response on Ford parts for a Mk6 1.6TDCi DPF.... but must have been mistaken.
