Bluetooth Connection Help

Featured Replies

Please can anyone help me by explaining how I pair my Blackberry with my Focus's bluetooth system? The manual is very little help.

I purchased my 2010 reg Focus Titanium yesterday and it has a bluetooth system, but my phone doesn't find anything when searching for devices? It states in the manual that I need to make sure that the bluetooth is activated on my phone and the stereo, but there's nothing in the menu to show bluetooth???

It must be installed because there's a speaker above the windscreen and the phone icons are on the stereo controls...I'm usually a pretty good tech person but this one is driving me insane!

The stereo is a Sony CD DAB.

Thanx

press the pick up button then you should be able to scroll through the menu of the bluetooth, if i remember correctly

I'm assuming Ford used the same SYNC system as on the F-150 I have - if it is the same system, the first mistake I made was trying to pair the phone while driving - it won't do it. You have to be stopped to pair a phone.

After that, it was fairly simple -

Press Phone, "No Phone Paired" is displayed, followed by "Add Bluetooth Device."

Press ok - "Find SYNC" is displayed, and the radio plays "Press OK to begin pairing a device"

Press ok - "SYNC" displayed, followed by "PIN: 123456". the radio plays "Search for SYNC on your device and enter the PIN provided by SYNC"

Find SYNC on your phone, and enter the PIN displayed on the radio screen.

"iPhone Saved" (or "DroidX Saved" or whatever your phone model is) displayed followed by "Device Connected" and the radio plays "For your safety please stay alert to changing road conditions and use SYNC's voice activated features while your vehicle is in motion. To use this device for bluetooth audio, choose the device Bluetooth audio in the media menu"

"Set as Primary Phone?"

Press OK twice to set as the primary phone

Display now says "Download Phonebook?"

Press OK twice to download the phonebook

Hi, iv tried to pair my Samsung s3 to my radio, tried holding the phone button and all it comes up with is MUTE, cant do anymore than that, even my Bluetooth on my phone dosent pick up any radio device in my car, I know its all there as my focus has all the buttons for using my phone viz Bluetooth in the car,

Any help would be appreciated

Unfortunately just because you have the buttons on the radio does not mean that bluetooth is fitted.

The radio muting is the default setting on non bluetooth units when the phone buttons are pressed.

You would also have this style of steering controller fitted and a small microphone grille near the courtesy light-

Thank you for that information, I have the control button on the column but not with the voice button, so appears mine wont work that way, any suggestions on how I can get my phone to work thru the radio speakers,

Thanks

The best option is to have a Parrot system fitted, I have one in my car and it's excellent.

The voice comes throuch the car speakers and all you will have showing is a microphone and a small control screen which will be positioned wherever you find most convenient.

If music is important to you there is a model that will connect to an iPod/iPhone to play music from or use the bluetooth to play it via what is called A2DP.

I have a CK3100 which handles just calls or for music there is the MKI9100.

Thanks, had a look on some on ebay they look as if they can do the job 100%
