Using A Rover Oil Cap

I lost the oil cap for the 1997 Ford Fiesta 1.25 a few days ago, and found that the 1998 Rover 216's oil cap fits, but is it OK to run the engine using it ?

I presume it is, but I just wanted to check.

    If it fits properly than I can't see a problem with using it. Just check it after a while to make sure the vibration of the engine running has not made it come off.

    Remember even things like this are designed to work in a certain way. Just nip down the scrappy and pick another one up
