Fiesta Mk5 Lower Ball Joint

Featured Replies

Hi all i've got a fiesta mk5 51 plate what it is my lower ball joint on the drivers side has some movement in it which is causeing a knocking noise. So iam just thinking will i have to change the wishbone or just get away with doing the balljoint also will i have to do the other side even know theres nothing wrong with that cheers alan.

its a bit more expensive to replace both the arms but you will get new ball joints and bushes - should cost about £50-£80 for after market parts.

replacing the ball joints is only £20-£30 but its a bit of a nightmare. im not sure how the mk5 is but any other ford ive done you need to grind the rivets securing the joint to the arm and try and punch them out to release the ball joint - not the best of jobs when your working on your back im afraid.

i done my 2 focus arms in about 2 hours, so an hour a side really. but it took me well over an hour to do just a ball joint on a focus, having to grind or drill the rivets out...
