Rev Counter Set Too High?

Featured Replies

I have a Fiesta 2001 1.3 model, with the endura E engine. Its a perfect car, It only has 27,000 miles on it. and i have never had a single problem with it. It has character, and I think part of that character is showing through on either the Idle valve or the rev counter as my car just does not want to stall at all, i can hav neither of my feet on any pedal at all and it will just potter along quite happily and ten MPH.

I have been told different things by many people, but im hoping someone with the same model as mine can sympathise with me as it is quite confusing

Thanks

Elmo

lots of cars cruise along in first and second gear quite happily. Its good for slow moving traffic jams, in my mk7 in first it does around 6mph and in second it does approx 10mph if your careful enough with the clutch you could get it up to a reasonble pace in 3rd, 4th or even 5th(might be pushing it) just by using the clutch. Nothing unnormal.

Hope this helps.
