Odd Noise

Featured Replies

Hello all, new on here and not sure if I am posting in the right section but hoping for some help re a noise that is driving me crazy. My car is a Fiesta 1.4 tdci on a 2009 plate. High miles for the year at 54000. It has a noise which to me sounds like a wheel bearing prob so I took it to Fords while the warranty is still valid, they, as I knew they would told me it was tyre/road noise. So, changed the tyres for a good set of Conti's with hardly any wear and as I thought, the noise is still apparent. It is like a humming/droning noise which gets louder while braking and becomes more apparent on smooth road surfaces, which again tells me its not tyre/road/roar. Before I re book it with the main stealers !, does anyone have any info on this type of noise on the fiesta or is anyone experiencing the same prob. Thank in advance and regards.

Does the noise change note going say round a roundabout ect if it changes when load is applied it will be a bearing .

Hi, not really noticed it getting louder while cornering but it does get louder when braking. Before fitting the tyres now on it I reviewed a lot of sites re tyre noise and these Conti contact premiums had great reviews regarding road/tyre noise yet the noise is still apparent.
