Fiest Zetec 1.25 2000 Overheating Problem

Featured Replies

i wonder if anyone can shed some light on a overheating problem i have?recently after driving for 30 miles my car started over heating and when i pulled up to a slip road after exiting the m5 there was steam coming from the expansion tank,i took it to a mate who changed the thermostat and thought that would be the end of it.after driving another 30 miles it started doing it again, but this time i noticed the temp gauge had shot up to maximum,so i turned on the heaters to try cool the engine down, it was blowing cold air, but ten mins into the journey the air was hot.i eventually made it home but all the water from the tank had evaporated, the fan works fine.took it back to my mate who thought it might be the water pump,he took it off and said it was fine, does anyone know what else it could be?
