paulymilburn
Hi i paid cash for my new transit trend feb last year first battery keeps going flat i am auto & marine electronic specialist found fuse 77 blown no start 5a next day fuse blew again fire under dash near steering called ford picked van AA took van to ford, ford say that because i changed the fuse they don't want to know ford dealer pushed my van into workshop dented my rear door broke my solor panel from roof scratched roof lights then told me proove it. The fault is at the steering neer the top the sharp edge a ring cuts into the loom shorting the loom causing a fire look out for no starting no dash lights i have found it to be common my two young boys were in the van. Do not change any fuses call the dealer let them have the hastle if your van is out of warranty look for the loom conduit at the steering pull it away gently from the sharp ring you will see it mind your fingers the ring is sharp open the loom there retape wiring after checking wires then recover with new harder conduit secure the loom put the facias back carefully job done there are more problems with the van i will post again.
