Fiesta Endura Gearbox

Featured Replies

Morning all, I need my gearbox replaced on my Fiesta (Endura 1.3 1999) getting quotes of £80-£100 for a replacement(Scrapyard)

I have a chance to get a Zetec one for £40 2000.

Am I correct that this is a straight swap?

The final Drive on Endura (3.84 to 1) and Zetec (4.27 to 1) I cannot work out if that will shorten or lengthen the gears and will it be noticable on driving?

Cheers

Hi Dietmar

The Final Drive on the 4.27 box will mean the car will accelerate quicker but the revs at say 60mph may be around 3500-3750 which is fast for the 8v and will be loud it will also use more fuel.

I would find a gearbox similar to the one that you currently have.

Many Thanks for your reply. Gear Ratio for Fiesta 95-02 Ib5 Gearbox

Petrol

1st 3.58 to 1

2nd 2.04 to 1

3rd 1.32 to 1

4th 0.95 to 1

5th 0.76 to 1

Diesel

1st 3.58 to 1

2nd 1.93 to 1

3rd 1.28 to 1

4th 0.95 to 1

5th 0.76 to 1

Final Drives

1.3 Endura 3.84 to 1

1.25 Zetec 4.27 to 1

1.4 Zetec 4.27 to 1

1.6 Zetec 3.82 to 1

Diesel 3.82 to 1

Looks like a Diesel or 1.6 Zetec would be best suited then? But done the maths on a Endura and a 1.25 gearbox and I think it is only about 10% of a difference

63.6 mph at 3000 rpm is better.

A diesel box would be great but iam not sure if it would work

Going to look at a gearbox tomorrow, Thing is the guy is unsure what engine it came from.

He Breaks Fiesta's and he has marked it as a 1999 but unsure if it's 1.25 or 1.3

I have noticed from a searches that:-

VD/VE Seem to be 1.3 Enduras http://www.wills-garage.de/shop/product_info.php?products_id=279&osCsid=c71dc26d6b7a6864f01f76e909d7e017

YD 1.25 Zetec

BH/BG/FA Ka

My gearbox is 97wt 7002 VD

Is there a breakdown of the codes so i can find out what one he has?

Regards Deet
