Footwell Lighting

Featured Replies

I've been browsing through a few of the topics and was wondering does the Zetec S come with lighting in the footwells and doorsills? Or is that a modification many of you have done?

Cheers :]

No you have to buy them separately.

LED bulbs £2 from eBay (look for 501 wedge) and sills £22/£50 depending if you want Lockwood ('S' design) or official Ford ones.

Cheers :] So for the footwells, is the wiring stuff down there already and you only need the bulbs?

Depends mate, need to check. I just finished retro-fitting red LED strips in the footwells the other day actually using a guide from the forum ;)

EDIT: Heres a pic....

Thats exactly what I wanna do when I get my new car haha! The red looks as good as I imagined ;] Was it a lot of hassle? So do some come with them and some dont? My uncle has a normal Zetec and he has the footwell lights so I'm surprised the Zetec S's dont come with them as standard..

Hi, ive got a zetec and I've been looking at the bulbs mentioned above, can these just replace the existing bulbs or is it more complicated than that?

Thanks x

Yes, they are just a direct replacement. :)

Yes some models come equipped with it, check menu > vehicle settings for the option to turn it on/off and if its not there then you dont have it! Nah pretty easy tbh anyone could do it mate. Does look pretty good though. I hooked it up with the courtesy light so the come on when the doors open etc...

Hi

Just having a look on eBay for red footwell bulbs and searched for "red 501wedge" as suggested on here and it comes up with loads of different shape and types of bulbs. Can anyone tell me which I need for a direct replacement for my white bulbs?

Thanks

Rog

The ones I bought from an eBay seller don't seem to be listed anymore. These look like the best alternative (from the same seller) You want some thing like this so it gives a glow rather than a spotlight effect.

if you can find a 12 cluster of led's on ebay, get they they flood the whole area, are best ones i have tried, some look like a spotlight and aint woth it so just be careful you dont get a bad set

Yeah, like Nico said get the 12 clusters. Pics of the 12 clusters I got and the results can be found here > http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/23138-footwell-lights/page__st__15 (scroll down to reply #23)

PM me and we can arrange for me to post you this loom it filters the cables in the courtesy light giving you a positive and negative feed for your footwell lights £5 including P&P 1st Class registerd from Ireland.

at your door in 3 days mate, al you need to do then is hook to the lights then when you unlock the car or open any of the doors except the boot, the footwell lights will illuminate B)

Blue is Positive and the Black is Negative no snipping required
