Fiesta Clutch Fluid Issue

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am new here and looking for a bit of advice if I can. I have a 1999 Fiesta with 1.3 push rod engine. It was leaking fluid from the clutch slave cylinder, so about a month ago I had a new clutch and slave cylinder fitted (the old slave was well and truly past it!) When it was leaking fluid, the brake fluid reservoir would drop below min causing the warning lamp to illuminate.

Anyway.... the leak, or a very similar one is back. I am 99% sure it is brake/clutch fluid, it is coming from between the bell housing and the cylinder block, and its quite an amount! However, unlike before the brake fluid reservoir level is not dropping at all.... In fact, all fluids are staying exactly as they should! The clutch feels fine, brakes are fine, except for the fluid loss...

My concern is, its coming from somewhere which is sure to run out soon! Can anyone shed any light before I have to have the gearbox off (again....)

Many thanks... Chris
