Clutch Position Switch

Hi Folks,

I've just replaced my clutch master cylinder - click here if you're interested in my experience of this.

However - in the process I broke the clutch position switch - so I'm assuming the ECU thinks I've got my foot on the clutch the whole time. It doesn't seem to make any difference to how it drives.

The car is a Mk6 Finesse 1.25 Duratec. It's basic. On a car with cruise control, I can see that the clutch position switch would tell the ECU to disengage the cruise control if the clutch was pressed. Mine doesn't have cruise control.

I'm wondering if the switch is a standard fit across the range, but doesn't actually do anything on my particular model.

Can someone confirm or correct me on this?

thanks,

Phillip
