1.6Tdci Powertrain Light

Featured Replies

Any help on the following will be much apprecaiated before I give up and pass this to the garage.

My 57 plate fiesta 1.6tdci keeps throwing a powertrain warning light error and then has reduced power - with what I assume is the turbo being disabled.. This is not a MIL light but it still suggests stopping and having the vehicle checked ... not before I check some things myself! I have hooked it up to my PC via a USB elm327 connector but there are no diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored or pending, including when the warning light is active. I have noticed that this tends not to happen on my drive to work in the morning (when it is cooler) but is now regular on the return in the afternon when it is hotter. My suspicions are the air of fuel systems but any advice from the experts out there?
