Mountune Replica

Featured Replies

I know many of you do not like thenword replica but it can change the way a car looks and feelsnfor the person who owns it. Me myself am only 17 so I decided to replica it. This is an expensive task as the zetec s body kit is very expensive. I have nearly finished my project and have been working and earning money to pay for parts since march. I am 17 and this is my first car, it being a 60 reg 1.25 White zetec.

So far I have done the following:

Rear diffuser (black)

Rear spoiler

Carbon wrap boot handle

Side skirts

Front spoiler

Front grill (black)

Tints

Scuff plates

Zetec s 17" ferrari grey alloys with yellow trim

Yellow callipers

Led footwell lights

Led number plate lights

I am still left to complete:

Black piano interior

Carbon trim interior

HID headlights

Yellow wing mirrors

Exhaust

Mountune badge

Lowering springs

I will upload photos ASAP I hope you like it. Soon to be a complete mountune replica thanks H

Mountune badge

Phew, I bet your insurance company have got a nice Xmas bonus on the back of that too.

Whilst I appreciate you're putting a lot of work and effort in to this (and I'm sure it looks great!) I'm not sure I understand it.

Being 17 and modifying you car will increase your insurance so you'll be paying more money for something lacking in performance. The money you spent on the bodykit alone probably could have bought you a standard Zetec-S anyway. I don't see the point in doing all this to a 1.25l car?

I was thinking the same Inath. It seems like the OP has the money for a Zetec S and the insurance might even be less than a heavily modded 1.25.

That's if he has told the insurance company about what he has added....

I am on traders policy and can only be placed on a 1.4 vehicle or below so I will be purchasing a zetec s or new st at a later date but doing this I feel will sell well even though it's a 1.25. Thanks for your views

Did you invest a lot till now?

All the mods listed are fair enough, gives the car a nicer sporty look.

the only thing i would say dont do is the mountune badges and colour options, Its the same as people putting st badges on a zetec s and turbo badges on various heaps of rubish. try to stay away from saying its somethings its not, all the rest of the things you want sound good tho.

anyway pics up when done :)

Yeah picks soon :) I know what you mean I wasn't going to do the badge but just abit of yellow here and there because think it goes well instead of the normal White one because there are so many

yeh, i was going to go down the more common route of black mirrors, plactics and wheels. I may get the courage to do something different, ive always wanted a white and black car tho.

Yeah looks so much better than the plastic black really brings the diffuser and the grill out

I done a similar thing to my zetec s wanted the mountune or pumaspeed upgrade but insted and started with the dress up stripes wing mirrors alloys dotz scaribs instead of mountune. Also colour code front grill and rear defuser to the dark gray. Now mountune exhaust lowered j1 induction kit and bluefin superchip

Guys where can I get a good exhaust that doesn't sound tacky but still sounds good at the same time

http://www.mountuneperformance.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=188&Itemid=110

http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-Fiesta-Mk7-Ti-VCT-Zetec-S-Catback-Exhaust-by-Milltek_791.jsp

These are the most popular, similar systems (I think they're both manufactured by Milltek and then Mountune rebrand theirs?)

Mountune are currently cheaper though. These exhausts were designed for the 1.6 so I wouldn't go for the whole system, not much benefit for the 1.25.

I was also thinking about getting the Milltek...will this void the warranty?

Duplex is nice too, Click Here

when creating a replica bare in mind that the car your replicating owners will be modifing too so you could create a modified replica,

if you get me,

and heres the single back box Click Here

also i think carbon wrapping the section between the bottom of the rear window and the handle on the boot (area around the rear Badge) is a top quality mod mate,

looks like to whole boot panel is carbon fibre and a real sport look B)

also Mountune badge can be purchased Click Here if you e-mail the seller, he's 100% and manufactures Mountune Bade replica's ive purchased mysellf and recommend.

Declared your mods yet?

I was also thinking about getting the Milltek...will this void the warranty?

Not if you get the 140 PS package through Mountune, Consists of the entire (Milltek) exhaust system, air induction, and remap. Maintains the main Ford warranty.

They even have a few European dealers capable of doing the conversion. Not sure if any would be close enough though. Check the dealer locator on http://www.mountuneperformance.com

Other than that you go aftermarket and void your warranty unfortunately

I don't know if fitting an exhaust will void the warranty, but if you own the car and are driving it on a traders policy that is not in your business name then you may well find that you are not covered.

The exhaust doesnt void your warranty its just that if damage occurs as a result of fitting said exhaust that it matters. If the part is ford approved, which I assume it probably will be if its in the mountune pack, then it shouldnt void any warranties. I would get this checked at a Ford dealer though or by ringing ford as they will try anything to avoid spending money if they can.

In relation to the insurance thing.

I have a 1.25 style. If I got Zetec 15" alloys and moved my tyres over (same size on both the steels and alloy wheels) would my insurance company need to be told? As they are proper ford alloys not aftermarket alloy wheels.

Yes you need to inform your insurance company of this. If you are making it different from how it comes out the factory they will need to be told - they will then decide if they will amend your premium for this.

Tar very much. May give em a ring and ask then decide whether or not to bother with it.
