diddles Posted August 6, 2011 Share Posted August 6, 2011 Hi, ive just sold my bmw 330ci sport and im just wondering if the 1.8 tdci engine is any good? im after something reliable and economical, ive heard loads of conflicting stories about this engine so im really confused, some people say its rubbish and unreliable and some say its the best one to go for?!?!?!? can any one help clear this up for me as im going to be looking at cars next week as in desperate need for one! stef123 Posted August 7, 2011 Share Posted August 7, 2011 I agree with Lee, My father has had his focus mk2 with the 1.8tdci engine for a couple of years now. Its just short of 70k miles and never missed a beat. His car normally returns 50mpg, and from what he has said its quite alot on long motorway journeys. The problem with reading on forums about cars is you never hear much good, only the bad bits. Given how many of them are on the roads today, i would say they are quite reliably.
