Radomly Feel The Engine Miss A Beat/hesitate

Featured Replies

hi all new to the site and a new owner of a ford focus 2.0 petrol hatch.

problems....started off with rough idle down to a broken vacuum pipe (assume it's a vacuum pipe as it sucks where the brake in the small pipe was) now fixed the rough idle is gone (maybe still a slight bit but might just be me).

now i've noticed that when cruising at any speed but mainly on a motorway at 70mph, the car will miss a beat/hessitate. it fells like someone has touched the brakes and then it picks up again, sometimes for a split second and sometimes for 1-2secs.

have noticed that at this time the revs seem to stay about the same but speed drops????

any ideas???

thanks!!

ive had that feeling a few times in mine, unfortunately mine is a diesel and so will depend on your engine.

- replace fuel filter

- check turbo pipes

- clean egr valve

i did the above and i dont get any more issues but like i say being petrol you may not have some of the listed.
