Automatic Fiesta - Aluminium Pedal Covers

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Has any auto fiesta owners fitted aluminium pedal covers?

I see on ebay theres some mondeo (auto) ones that have the gas and brake pedal covers, and a large dead pedal/foot rest for the left - quite tempted. Anyone got these already?

And would I need to worry about anything when !Removed! the foot rest into the floor?

cheers

Paul

I've fitted the footrest (car came with the main pedal covers:

This is an old thread about clutch footrests (including details of how they fit): Old thread

The pedals which come in the Mondeo set require drilling of the normal pedals, the Fiesta alloy pedals are slip-on. So not sure if they'd fit or how much work it would be.

The Mondeo sets can be got for £50 on eBay and occasionally pop up for less (I paid £15!)

That looks really smart, im impressed.

I knew I'd have to get out the drill for the foot rest but had originally hoped to use clip-ons for the pedals, but as my auto pedals are different shapes to manual sets I'm now prepaired to drill the pedals too - (and by me I mean I'll find someone brave enough to do it for me).

I'm guessing the floor/foot rest is metal underneath the carpet - any chance of wiring being underneath or should I just go for it?

I don't mind paying £45 for the mondeo set I posted a link to after seeing most of them usually selling at over a hundred! £15 would be even better of course so I'll keep an eye out but won't hold my breath lol.

Thanks for the reply coysht. Glad to see the mondeo foot rest fits in nicely.

EDIT - just started reading your the older thread you linked me too - so the footrest is really just drilled into the carpet material. Should be easier. :)

I ended up getting these for christmas but haven't got round to fitting them.

I called into my dealer tonight on my way home and asked if they would fit them (as I didn't know if dealers did that kind of thing or not).

They said because the computer says that part number is for an automatic galaxy/mondeo/smax and not a fiesta they wouldn't fit them.

They also said that as they aren't designed for my car my foot could slip on the pedal covers and cause an accident - and they'd be liable.

Ok I can see their point a little, but on the other hand these are genuine ford parts to fit to ford automatic pedals - and as they are the same shape as my auto fiesta pedals I'm guessing I have the same pedals that would they would stick in an auto galaxy/mondeo/smax etc.

I left kinda annoyed, (although that could of been down to my day at work earlier).

Thoughts on this please.......?

Fit them yourself...? :P

I can see where they're coming from, in today's world people are always looking to sue everyone to avoid them being classed as at fault [in the case of an accident]

lol yeah theres always that - the original plan.

I was just a bit miffed them saying they don't want anything to do with fitting these genuine ford covers to standard ford pedals. *sigh*

Time for my dad/uncle to dig out their tools I think.... ;)
