Zetec 1.8 Swap For Zetec Turbo Engine 1.8 Rs

Featured Replies

Hi,

The top end has gone on my MK1 and I need a new engine now.

I've found someone that has a Zetec 1.8 Turbo RS for sale and am curious to know how difficult and what work would be required to make this conversion possible...?

I'm not great with mechanics but so far I've been told / figured out that it's possible to use the existing inlet manifold, throttle body, flywheel, gearbox and all the the mounting points are the same.

And that "it's a nice and easy conversion."

I'm looking for some sound advice as to weather it's a good shout or not?

Also what other work and parts would be required?? ECU, Compression ETC...

Thanks

P.S

I know I already have a thread open here, I'm not trying to spam sorry, but this is a more direct topic,
