Focus 2004 Bonnet Only Opens A Little

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a problem with my Focus 2004 bonnet (hate those stupid key-release bonnets so much.....)

I turn the key, the bonnet pops up a little..... but then is stuck at that point, meaning it will not open any more. I can push it back down again to lock it, and release it with the key again, but that little bit that it 'pops' up when I unlock it..... it will not open up any more than that.

I did try searching, but could only find bonnet problems where the key would not turn at all, or the bonnet would not open at all, I can't find any problem like mine where the bonnet pops up but then does not go any further than that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Asfand

You turn the key anti-clockwise to unlock it to the safety catch. Have you then turned the key clockwise to fully release it? B)

Thanks, it worked. But it looks like I am going to have to sell my car. I refuse to drive a car that makes me look like an idiot.

Don't worry I did the same when I first got my focus. I spent half an hour looking for a lever to pop the bonnet until I decided to rtfm :-)
