Warning Light And Power Loss

I have a 1.6TDCi Focus. Just had the alternator fixed yesterday. This morning, a warning light that looks like a gear cog with an exclamation mark in it appeared. And the turbo stopped kicking in when I increased the revs.

Anyone know what the problem could be? And how to fix it?

If there is no error message, it needs hooking up to a diagnostic tool for the error codes to be read. What revs can you achieve? and at what revs does the turbo usually cut in? It could be in what's called "Limp Home Mode" Could be the DPF, what year is it how many miles has it covered. Does the service book or log indicate when the eloys fluid was last topped up, indeed has it ever been topped up. Is it way past DPF replacement time?

But like I said you need to have the error codes read via a diagnostic tool.

When mine had a similar problem it said in the dash display engine malfunction and it was turbo less like catch said limp home mode!

again you need it hooked up to diagnostics to find and rectify the fault
