So ive finally got my build date :)! 7th/8th of October.

I was just curious to see how long everyone else waited after the build date to receiving their car.

I waited 3 weeks for mine - built 31st May 2011 pickup 22nd June 2011 - worst 3 weeks of my life lol

mine was 32 days from build date till delivery, sucked so badly

Looks like im going be waiting a while longer then doesnt it :( i was expecting to wait a month after the build date anyway.

Its just killing me, i dont think my 03 Punto (yes i know a Fiat. Was okay when i bought it... for the first week) will be able to last much longer :P

mine took 22, from compound to pick up, but there was Christmas new year and winter in-between!

I ordered my car on 25th July 2010 - it was in a compound on that date which was 10days after it was built. Picked up 3rd August.

Thanks for all the comments guys, gives me a good idea of how long im gonna have to wait!

Mine was around 9 days from build to pick up although I did pester alot as it was 2 days before I went on holiday.

This will on depend on the salesman, time of year, and how niche your order was:

I used to sell fords (9 months ago) in a dealership in rugby warwickshire. I liked to get all my car out as fast as i could so i could concentrate on selling more cars...some salesmen were just unorganised and that led to delays with delivers....

Busy months i.e. feb, march, aug, sept can be absolutely manic in the showroom and although cars might be ready to go out there can be back logs and there are limits on how many handovers one guy can do in a day (usually around 8-10 if your organised)

Obvs Niche orders can be delays on build dates...ive known cars with built in navs etc to have build dates move by upto 2 months.

To cut a long story short....usually you should be looking at 2 weeks for build date to delivery!

My build date is 29/8/11 for my metal...my brother is the salesman so i should have it within 10 of the 29th i hope!

I order my fiesta metal on 16th august it had to be built .and build date was the 16th sept and now the salesman says the car missed the boat so it should be no longer then the 18th oct not very happy about it but what can you do I still have my zs so it not to bad I have Some thing to look forward to

Well that was very in depth and useful, cheers :) as i said earlier its not going to be built until the 7th of October so from what people have said hopefully it will be here for the last week in October or early November! Or so i hope anyway.

My car is similar to the OP's and it turned up nearly three weeks early which is a bonus. It is a lease car, so I never got the build date, but the original delivery date slipped by a week and a half and then magically turned up early!
