Fiesta Zetec S Tdci Engine Output Query

Featured Replies

All,

Quick question and the obligatory apology if its been asked before but a search is not getting me the answer.

I was wondering, how do i know what power output my ZETEC S tdci fiesta has? My question arises due to the fact I see varying options suggesting some are 95hp, some 85hp and sometimes I see 75 and 90 listed depending where you look?

Is there an easy way of understanding this or identifying it on the vehicle?

Thanks for your help

ps, its a 2010 reg 1.6 tdci zetec s

dont quote me on this but i seem to remember the 95ps models were made from july 2010 onwards...? any way of finding when it was built? or go to ETIS and punch in your reg.

only other things i can think of that differentiates it to the 90ps was that they added a green arrow light to change gear within the rev counter, and the chrome ring on the gear lever at the base of the gearknob.

ETIS asks for the VIN number so ill try it later from home as dont have it to hand right now. Not sure when it was built however it was registered on 13th August 2010

It does have the Gear Change indicators and the chrome ring so if this is the case then im on the right route to finding out.

Any one else able to add anything?

many thanks Loz for the quick reply

Its quite easy to tell from the engine bay whether it is the 90PS or 95PS - count the number of camshafts. the 90PS was a 16 valve unit, but the 95 (unusually) is an 8v SOHC one, which helps it get Euro 5 emissions.

Uh oh, gonna get some jip after this reply, count the cam shafts you say? How and what do they look like?

they run along the top of the engine from left to right. If the top of the timing cover houses two pulleys (look at the shape of it) you can presume its a 16V. otherwise, its an 8V. without a bit of experience it would be hard to tell i spose, by eye.

the other way to check is if you have a DPF light when you start the car flash breifly on the cluster.

Or post your reg and I'll tell you what you've got ;) or PM me.

good thinking nath... etis! *facepalm*
