if you check ford's etis (electronic technical ifnormation system) and put in your reg it generates service schedules for you

http://www.etis.ford.com

but i have put in your details and both belts + the tensioner need renewing every 100k miles or 8 years (whichever is sooner)

Thanks :)

Been wondering recently as in the cold wet mornings i am getting a slight squeak from the belt but it seems tight enough. Just recently hit 70K

you wont get a squeak from your cam belt, you'll get a snap! it's toothed!

your squeak will be coming from the aux belt (fan belt). i reckon that needs replacing, and luckily the fan belt is a 15 minute job rather than a 2 hour one that the cam belt is, so wont be too difficult.

Thanks for the advice, so you reckon i could do this job myself?

Hi

yes you can easily do it yourself as long as you are handy with tools.

should not realy be squeaking on an 61 plate.

try a little talcom powder that works quite well
