Did all focus Mk1's come with 5000 radios

Hi i'v had my focus mk1 for four months and the only thing that does'nt work is the Audio remote

on the steering wheel. My focus came with a 3000 radio cassette which works fine but on a few

websites they say all focus's came equipt with the 5000rds radio cassette, if so would this cause

the audio remote behind the steering wheel not to work due to compatable issues.

Please would someone confirm this issue for me before I buy a new Audio remote control.....

I love the car and is nearly as good as a FORD CAPRI ............

    Yup the norm for the base level focus is the 5000RDS R/C. Higher spec came with the CD6000 CD radio. The CD was also an optional upgrade. AFAIK the 3000 only came with Fiestas and doesnt support the dash remote in the focus. Someones most likely had their original radio nicked as there was a country wide spate of Ford radio thefts a few years ago, and replaced it on e-bay or somewhere.
