Noise On Starting Cold Engine

Featured Replies

Just curious, on starting car each morning i get a rattle which i am assuming is the waterpump as it speeds up or slows down as i press the accelerator.

The noise is gone in less than 20 seconds certainly by the time i have driven 50 meters or so

It does not reappear until after the car has been sitting overnight, I can leave the car for 5 hrs during day and on restarting no noise

Is this a sign of anything to be concerned about or as another post ehich mentions noise should i wait till it gets worse?

Apparantly the belt on the power steering was not on correct, as belt warmed up it expanded and slipped to the position it should be then when cold it had shrunk again
