Fiesta Mpg 1.25

Featured Replies

hi,

im new to this site but ive been reading some topics and they have been really useful.

My question is i bought a used Ford Fiesta style +, 1.25cc, 59 plate with 12000 miles on the clock two weeks ago and am only geting max 37 MPG.

i do 25 ish miles round trip to work on motor ways at 60MPH ish give or take what trafic is like. if it clear i do 70MPH. is this a right MPG to be getting or should i be getting more?

im not expecting much more but should i be getting a bit more. i dont drive like an idiot. i try not to rev the engine about 2500RPM. i dont leave it running out side my hous or anything. i try not to do small trips. but i do do a few here or there but im sure every body does that to.

just wondered what you guys were getting?

also, my bluetooth has decided to pack up. no phone is searching it but everyhting else works on it apart from the bluetooth. it dont alow me to turn the bluetooth of or debond my phone from the car. it worked last week but this week it just disconected on its own and not work again.

does anyone else have this problem ??

i am taking it back to the dealer next week but just thought id ask to see if anyone else has this problem.

doing 70mph will bring your mpg down but if you are doing a one way trip of 12+ miles and the rest is general stop start around town, a low figure of 37mpg sounds about right.

I think I would re-set the info clock next time you are going on a journey of 30 miles or more and see what result that gives.

Well I'll be driving to Wales from Essex on Friday so when I fill up I'll reset the clock and see what I get. What do you think I should be getting?

My 2011 Fiesta 1.25 (82PS) has averaged 50.3mpg since April, but I do drive fairly slowly. This figure is from a spreadsheet, based on odometer readings and petrol station pump figures.

I have a ScanGauge which I use to monitor consumption as I drive, maybe that helps. On the other hand, I would take any figures from an in-car fuel consumption meter with a pinch of salt.

I think Ford improved the official consumption figures for the 1.25 Fiesta by about 2mpg between 2009 and 2011, but that's not large enough to explain the difference.

thats exactly the same model as mine 1.25 82ps. im guessing then that im not getting the same as you becuase i only do 25 odd miles. how many miles do you do. ill soon see the real MPG on the weekend when i drive to wales. thats 180 miles so i should get a true reading then. you work it out manually do you or have another deice. you dont go by the cars meter then?

Luke

On a just reset trip meter, on the motorway at 70mph for 30+ miles, I'd probably say 40-45mpg.

I've gotten mine up to 50 before but that was travelling at 60mph for a 200 mile trip.
