Trish551
Hi everyone, I wonder if you could help me. I have a 2007 Ford Fiesta Ghia and am having a problem with intermittent loss of power. I can be driving along at any speed and suddenly it is like someone switches the car off and I coast to a stand still, sometimes it will start again straight away and other times you have to give it 5 minutes before it will restart. It broke down yesterday and I called the AA out, he was at a loss at to what the problem is, he did the usual checks but nothing showed and he found no faults, the car restarted ok for him and he suggested I used the other/manual key. I did this and the same thing happened again today. I am now a bit scared to drive the car............has anyone come across this before? Does anyone know what the problem could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated Kindest Regards Trish

Trish551
Pretty surprised to hear that he did not pick up any fault codes whatsoever from the ECU? No, none at all and he spent quite a while checking, the car started and he followed whilst it was driven for a couple of miles - but it didn't break down again......not until later this morning. I have also noticed that my central locking is only unlocking the drivers door and not the passengers door - this is a new occurance(Ithink). The AA man wondered if there was a problem with the key so suggested I use the manual key - which I did but still had a loss of power this morning....just like the car switched off....... but is was ok this afternoon. dohhhh ! :(
