hi all just woundering if anyone knows how much a new offside wing mirror cover in frozen white is for a mk7 61 plate as some so and so decided to hit it earlyer as u can guss im not happy about it lol cheers guys

Weird, I've had the same yesterday - left it in a tesco car park and came back to find the cover smashed on the floor.

Both are primed, I've looked for pre-painted ones but can't seem to find. Having it painted shouldn't be much, ring about locally for quotes, or maybe you/someone you know can paint it for you.

Make sure you buy the correct nearside/offside as they will only fit one way.

- On a side note, auto folding mirrors don't even bring the mirrors in all that much more than fully out, due to their sweeping aerodynamic shape.

The Ford mirror cover for mine (Vision metallic) was RRP £40.05 + VAT and was delivered next day. The Ford replacement part is supplied in the colour of your car - just give them your reg number and they will get the correct colour.

Make sure you ask for a discount as well! When I told them I could get one off eBay for under £40 they knocked 10% off straight away. I could probably have done better than that but I was so impressed that they got it in for 9am Saturday morning when I only ordered it at 4.30pm Friday I accepted the 10%

On a closely related note, I have a rattle in my driver's side mirror. When you close the door you hear it rattle a little bit. Tapping lightly on the top of it has the same result. Is it likely to be a busted clip or something loose inside? Anyone else had this?

Most likely one of the locating clips has broken as you have guessed. The cover is supposed to come off quite easily by pressing in at the sides - it is detailed in the Instruction Manual for the car for changing the indicator repeater bulbs. I would pop it off and remove whatever is rattling.
