Air Bag Relay Location

Featured Replies

hi all ,im a forum virgin ,please be kind ;)

my problem is my air bag warning light has come on .once the car is warm and i restart the car it resets itself.now this might sound strange but i think its temperature related ie warm mornings it dosent do it and when its cold it seems to do it more,im guessing(hopefully)its a sticking relay ,is it in the engine bay or inside the car? thanks in advance .dunk

ps my car is a 2000 ford focus 1.8 tddi ghia

I'm a newbie too but I'm pretty sure you've posted this in the wrong section of the forum (this is the Fiesta section!).

Anyway, it's quite likely that your problem is a loose multi plug under one of your seats. If the connection is loose the airbag light will come on. It would affected by temperature as the plugs will expand and contract. Try unplugging and replugging the multiplugs under the seats (one under each front seat) making sure they connect firmly and snugly. You could even put a small cable tie around them to pull them tight and stop expansion and contraction from forcing them apart.

There are other things that could also be causing this but this is one of the most common reasons for an airbag light and is so easy to check it's silly not to!

Cheers
