Hi guys,

I'm a newbie on here and wanted to know if there is anywhere i can find info on what you get with each Focus model available on the market.

I want one that has the heated front windscreen but from the 'what car/parkers' guides it says only the zetec climat/ghia/titanium models have them?

I have seen a TDCI Style 2008 model but the guys english isnt very good and getting him to tell me if the cars a 5sp or 6sp model was hard enough

Can someone point me in the right direction or answer my query.

welcome to the forum,

i have a 2010 ford focus style and it has cruise control, heated mirrors and heated windscreen, heated water jets and front fog lights, 16'' st style alloy wheels and its a 1.6Tdci 5 speed gear box with Traction control also known as ESP

if the windscreen is heated you will see little wires running down the glass every 2mm another little wire running down it,

also their will be 2 buttons on the centre console 1 for rear window and another for the front if it is heated.

Lenny: How did you get a Style with Cruise and the ST type alloys? They weren't standard on the Style.

salsheikh: You may want to concider the Sport as well as this has Sat/Nav, Voice Comms, Titanium Interior, ST Type Alloys, reversing sensors, auto dimming mirror, auto headlights, auto wipers, etc, etc.

Im pretty sure all Zetec models and higher such as the Sport and Titanium come with Heated Screen. It would have been an option on other variants of the Mk 2.5.

sorry mate thats only got rear window,

No heated windscreen on that model

it looks to be a 2008 or early 2009 ford focus climate judging by the style of the dash and the material on the seats :)

spoke to the seller who sent me aother pic (well video) and it hasnt got the front windscreen from what i can see. the search contiues....

Whats your price range?

about 5.5k but would push to 6 if it was the right car. seen lots of cars on autotrader/ebay etc but all over 100k and i want one with less than that.

i've also been advised to avoid the 1.6 models due to turbo issues and been advised they are underpowered. is this true? anything else i need to be aware of?

Is it a Six speed box your after ?

would like a 6sp but if the economy is good then its not an issue.

so, is there an issue with the 1.6 models?

the titanium models are ace. liking the blue one...

1.6 no issue as i'm aware of ,only 100bhp though , won't be breaking any speed records , but mine is great (so far) :)

these are quotes from another ford forum i enquired on

TBH if it was me I would avoid the 1.6 TDCi due to the well publicised turbo failures. Very costly to sort, and not totally avoidable either.

The 1.8 TDCi is pretty much bullet proof, a bit lacking in ultimate power if that's what you are after.

My choice (I am very biased mind) would be the 2.0l TDCi. 60mpg+ and great performance to boot, given a light foot for the former and forgetting economy for the seccond

Yeah sorry i forgot you was after a Diesel Model, read up about DPF on these forums before you buy one with a few miles on the clock , many threads on here about them
