Modular Tracking System For Fusion

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have a fusion 2004 reg(Automatic/Triptonic) which locked on drive mode. Tried local garages who changed the switch that controls the clutch but no success. It changes the gear from Auto to Natural or manual but then locks again. We ended up dealing with FORD local dealer by moving the car into Ford garage. I talked to the technician who tested the car and I was told that modular tracking system needs to be changed. He said that it would cost me around £2000, around £1600 for the part and rest is for labour. The car is not even worth that much but I was told that the choice is mine. I called customer service and they stated that they dont have a legal obligation to help me as the car is out of warranty.the options I have is to pay the money and get it fixed or send my car to scrap.

Could anyone advice me

1-how/where can I get the fautly part repaired/ changed cheaper than what the local Ford dealer is asking for

2-What is it I can do to make a complaint under the consumer rights as we believe that this was not a mechanical fault, drivers fault.

Any Help please..

Regards

Mems
